I graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently working as a Quality Technician at QinetiQ North America testing EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robots). I am looking to expand my career into manufacturing and design engineering.
Background
Growing up I was always interested in what made things work and how they were put together. I would often help my dad fix things around the house, which helped me to understand how things work and gave me the basic skills to take things apart, diagnose problems and fix them. This also gave me the skills and desire to create things.
Throughout high school I still wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for a career, until I joined the 4H-ALARM Robotics team. Being a member of the team allowed me to attain valuable hands on engineering experience. As the captain of the mechanical team, I gained further experience working with the electrical and programming teams to create a functioning robot that excelled in competitions. This experience showed me that I really wanted to be an engineer.
